The Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship (EDU-NC) has once again reaffirmed its commitment to promoting excellence and innovation through the organization of the 13th edition of Science and Technology Week.

Led by the Directorate of Technical and Vocational Education Administration (DAETP), this major initiative serves as a strategic platform for showcasing the skills, creative ingenuity, and technical expertise of Congolese students.

Under the theme “At the Heart of Technical Skill,” this edition offers a unique setting where science and technology become accessible, tangible, and promising for the future.

For the past two days, students from various schools across the country have been presenting innovative projects, demonstrating their ability to transform acquired knowledge into solutions tailored to national realities.

Robotics, smart models, technical devices… the diversity and quality of the projects demonstrate the exceptional potential of Congolese youth, encouraged and guided by the Ministry’s educational policies.

Through this initiative, the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship reaffirms its vision of an educational system firmly focused on careers, innovation, and 21st-century skills.

Science and Technology Week, which runs through this Saturday, serves as a powerful catalyst for inspiring career paths, strengthening hands-on learning, and bridging the gap between schools and the professional world.

The enthusiasm observed since the event’s opening reflects the growing interest in science and technology fields, which are set to play a decisive role in the socio-economic development of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

This momentum is fully aligned with the fifth strategic pillar of the ministry’s five-year plan, dedicated to innovation and sustainability, with a particular focus on integrating advanced technologies—notably artificial intelligence—into school curricula.

The opening ceremony, graced by the presence of the Minister of State for National Education and New Citizenship, Raïssa Malu, was attended by several government officials, underscoring the importance placed on this initiative. Among them were the Minister of State for Planning, Guylain Nyembo; the Minister of State for Vocational Training, Marc Ekila; as well as the ministers in charge of Communication and Media, Higher Education, University Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, and Youth and Patriotic Awareness.

The ministry thus invites the general public, particularly schoolchildren, students, teachers, and partners in the education sector, to take part in this grand celebration of knowledge and innovation, a true showcase of tomorrow’s talents.

Science and Technology Week continues through this Saturday. It is a unique opportunity to discover, be inspired, and commit resolutely to the path of excellence.
