Free primary education

As the new school year gets fully underway across the entire country, the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship wishes to strongly reaffirm that free public primary education is an inviolable, irreversible, and non-negotiable constitutional principle.

Nowhere in the Republic is it permissible to call this historic achievement into question.

Consequently:

• No fees may be charged to parents of students in public elementary schools.
• Any deviation from this principle constitutes an unjust and unconstitutional levy, foreign to the State.
• The government fully guarantees, throughout the national territory, the funding of operating costs, salaries, and bonuses related to the effective implementation of free education for all teachers, administrative offices, and schools concerned.
