The Democratic Republic of the Congo has taken on the challenge of making basic education free. Under the leadership of Tony Mwaba Kazadi, Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education, this initiative to provide free education has enabled more than 6 million students to return to school. To keep these children in school, the DRC government plans to establish school cafeterias for students. In fact, President Félix Tshisekedi has tasked the Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education (EPST) with presenting a roadmap for the establishment of school cafeterias for students. The Head of State made this announcement during the Cabinet meeting held on October 20. A budget allocation for the Support Project will enable this initiative to be implemented in about ten pilot schools. These will specifically be schools located in areas with a high number of students from the most disadvantaged social backgrounds. Chouquette Bombula
