Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde has issued clear instructions to the government to ensure a calm and peaceful start to the school year throughout the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He did so during the traditional meeting of the Economic Situation Committee, which he chaired on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. State Minister for the Budget, Aimé Boji, announced this following the meeting in his report on the session. "We also discussed the start of the school year. Instructions have been given to ensure that everything proceeds calmly and that there are no strikes. Therefore, the government will take all necessary measures with the unions (in the subsector, ed.) to ensure a calm and peaceful start to the school year," stated the Minister of the Budget. It should also be noted that the school calendar sets the start of the 2023-2024 school year for Monday, September 4, throughout the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Deborah Kabuya
