Launched on Wednesday, February 7, the awareness-raising and training session on the competitive recruitment of teachers and principals concluded on Saturday, February 10, 2024. Over the course of four days, the focus was on demonstrating to participants—including sub-provincial directors, district directors, and branch heads—the benefits of the new recruitment system, particularly in terms of improving the quality of education. “We ask participants to spread the word about this new system, deepen their understanding, and show candidates how to apply from the start of the process through to the results,” said trainer Marcel Kalala. Jude Nkaka, the sub-Proved of Kasa-Vubu and a participant in this training, expressed satisfaction with this reform, which strengthens meritocracy, equity, and transparency. “I have very positive and encouraging feelings about this reform. We are very happy because the training was more practical, and it allows us to master the tools we will use and the various steps involved in this recruitment process,” he noted. He continued, “Among the tools we used here are tablets that allow everyone to use the website the project has made available to us to apply for jobs if they meet the requirements. From now on, jobs will no longer be handed out as they were before, because the process will be transparent.” This awareness-raising and training, supported by the Project for Equity and Strengthening of the Education System (Perse), will be followed in the coming days by the launch of the recruitment competition.
