A dual ceremony was held on Tuesday, August 8, at the facilities of the Fund for the Promotion of Education and Training (FPEF) located in the Gombe district. The event marked the retirement of an employee and the inauguration of a new committee of union representatives. Ms. Albertine Dimba, in her sixties and now retired from the FPEF, said she was happy to have served with loyalty, dedication, and selflessness in the tasks and missions entrusted to her within the FPEF. The Acting Director General of the FPEF, Julie Tshilombo Kasa-Kanga, who presided over this dual ceremony, praised the work accomplished by Ms. Albertine Dimba on behalf of her staff, before presenting her with a check, traditional cloths, and a portrait photograph. Subsequently, the Acting Director General ratified the new union committee of her institution. “I call on you to act with conscience and, above all, with a love for your work and its leaders. We must balance rights and duties in the workplace. I wish you a fruitful term,” she said. The elected chair of the union delegates’ committee, Olive Tshimbuta Muya, expressed her commitment to faithfully fulfilling her duties. This committee is composed of six members, including three regular delegates and three alternates. The Fund for the Promotion of Education and Training (FPEF) is a public institution with legal personality and financial autonomy, operating under the supervision of the Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education. Created by a decree of the Prime Minister, the FPEF also supports the remuneration of primary, secondary, and technical education staff and any other initiatives to stimulate and promote national education throughout the country.
