The Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education, Tony Mwaba Kazadi, has announced the construction of new public and model schools in every administrative province to strengthen education across the country. The Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education presented this project during the 115th meeting of the Council of Ministers, chaired by Head of State Félix Tshisekedi at the African Union City on October 13. According to Minister Tony Mwaba, these will be new buildings with a capacity of at least 2,000 students to improve learning conditions and the quality of education. These schools will be built to international standards and equipped with laboratories, sports facilities, boarding facilities for students from rural areas, preferential operating costs and salaries, and libraries with state-of-the-art technology. In addition to these schools, Minister Tony Mwaba also announced the establishment of banks in the various regions where these schools will be built, following the school location map proposed by the National Directorate for Control, Payroll Preparation, and Teacher Workforce Management (DINACOPE) to spare teachers long distances when collecting their salaries. A total of 1,035 schools have already been built since the implementation of free education. Célestin Zeula
