DRC/PLD-145T: new schools in North Kivu and Kasai Central

Two elementary schools were officially handed over, one on November 25 in North Kivu and the other on November 23, 2023, in Kasaï Central as part of the government’s local development program for 145 territories. These are the Muana Bute Primary School, handed over by the governor of Central Kasai Province, John Kabeya Shikay, and the Director General of the Central Coordination Office, Jean Mabi Mulumba, in the village of Kempe, Kazumba territory, while the Masimbembe Primary School in the province of North Kivu in Béni was handed over by the BCECO. Construction work on the Kikinda Primary School in the Seke-Banza territory of Central Kongo has been completed, according to the BCCO. These schools join the 1,230 schools already built as part of the initiative to consolidate free public primary education and improve learning conditions, launched by Head of State Felix Antoine Tshisekedi.
