Approximately 62,107 students, including 29,233 girls, are taking the National Primary School Graduation Exam (ENAFEP) in Kasaï-Central Province. The exams began on Thursday, June 1, 2023, with a ceremony led by Vice Governor and Acting Governor Martin Makita Mfuamba at Diakaja Elementary School in the municipality of Katoka. Unlike in 2022, there is a slight increase in the number of students for the 2023 exam. “The 2023 ENAFEP will take place over two days. The Kasaï-Central 1 educational province is hosting 62,107 candidates, including 29,233 girls, whereas in 2022 it had only hosted 58,809 candidates, including 27,332 girls,” stated Deputy Governor Martin Makita Mfuamba. He continued, “The increase may seem small, but the efforts of parents and educators, combined with those of the provincial government, must be evident and translate into a firm commitment to supporting children, who are the foundation of development.” It should also be noted that these exams are free of charge in all schools, both private and public.
