The recruitment exam for teachers and school principals began this past Tuesday, March 5, in the pilot provinces. In the N'sele 2 subdistrict, located in the Kinshasa-Plateau educational province, there are 28 women among the 74 candidates for principal and 88 women among the 208 teacher applicants. In his remarks, the deputy provincial education director expressed his hope that the candidates would conduct themselves as role models in the exam room. “I urge you to behave as the educators and school leaders of tomorrow to raise the standard of education in our country,” he said. For his part, Fernand Lutula Mbayi, chief inspector of the same subdivision, asked the candidates to answer the questions carefully. Lutula Mbayi also indicated that for candidates who pass the exam, a refresher course will be organized to further enhance their skills. Dominique Lomonyo Bolimo, a supervisor from the Central Human Resources Directorate of the General Secretariat of the EPST, clarified that only candidates who scored at least 60% will be selected for this refresher course. It should be noted, however, that twelve director candidates were denied entry to the exam center for failing to register online in advance. Thierry Mbebangu
