EPST recruitment: Limete1, Lemba1, Matete1 and Ngaba subdivisions line up 151 candidates
The recruitment exam for teachers and public school principals was held as scheduled on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in the four sub-districts of the Kinshasa-Mont-amba educational province, including Limeté 1, Lemba 1, Matete 1, and Ngaba.
These subdivisions fielded 151 candidates, including 132 teacher candidates and 19 public school principal candidates.
These candidates are distributed as follows: the Limeté1 subdivision had 21 candidates, Lemba1 had 66 candidates, Matete1 had 35 candidates, and the Ngaba subdivision had 29 candidates.
This recruitment is an initiative of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (EPST), which aims to improve the quality of its staff in the provincial educational subdivisions.
Participants’ Satisfaction
Mr. Albert Onema Tambue, one of the candidates in this competition, expressed his satisfaction with this initiative from the Tony Mwaba Kazadi administration.
"I am pleased that recruitment is being conducted through a competitive exam, unlike what we experienced in the past when recruitment was carried out fraudulently. Today we know that the best candidate will win and be selected, and this leads us to believe that high-quality education will be achieved," he stated.
For his part, Papy Ilunga, the deputy supervisor of the Project for Equity and Strengthening of the Educational System (PERS) for this competition in the Limeté 1 subdivision, indicated that only candidates who score at least 60% on the written exam will proceed to the oral exam, specifically the professional practice assessment for teacher candidates.
"And the interview for principal candidates. It is after these two stages that we will select those who succeed. Candidates who pass this competition will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the education and development of the youth of Kinshasa Mont-Amba," he said.
This competition constitutes the second pillar of the Sectoral Strategy for Education and Training (SSEF).
This pillar aims to improve the quality of primary, secondary, and technical education (EPST) by equipping the education system with competent and dedicated teachers and principals.
It should be noted that this first stage of the competition focused on general knowledge, particularly educational psychology and French writing, in order to assess the candidates’ pedagogical skills, subject knowledge, and teaching abilities.
