EXETAT 2023: appeal ?second session or deliberation? Minister Tony Mwaba explains

During an interview with the press on Monday, September 25, 2023, Minister Tony Mwaba Kazadi was keen to emphasize that there has never been an appeal, a second review, a change, or a re-release of the results of the 2023 State Exam, contrary to what several socio-political actors are trying to suggest. According to the head of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education (EPST), this was a technical glitch in the publication process on the part of the telecommunications partners. And this glitch was corrected with the publication of the list of top scorers. In fact, the online release of the Honor Roll is also a type of publication that includes everything, correcting the technical glitches on the telecom side. Also, during the release of the results, it was noted that some students were using the wrong identification number. At the same time, it turns out that results from previous years remained available during this year’s publication, so it’s not surprising to receive incorrect responses. “When a school or a student enters the code without specifying the year, it may redirect them to 2022 and display incorrect results—either nothing, or another name, or another option. The 14-digit code is the identification number used every year, but it’s the name and the year that change. When we began publishing the results of the 2023 State Exam, the windows for the 2022 edition were still open,” he explained. As a reminder, since Monday, the Ministry of EPST has been publishing the list of State Exam winners, by educational province, from the 2008 edition to the present day.
