The fees for participating in national certification exams throughout North Kivu Province have just been set by the acting military governor, Major General Peter Cirimwaminkuba, through a provincial decree dated February 12, 2024. A copy of this document received by the EPST Communication Management Directorate (DGC) states that the fees for the preliminary exams, the special session, and the regular session of the 2024 State Exam in all three educational provinces amount to 75,000 Fc. Self-taught candidates, meanwhile, will be required to pay 85,000 CFA francs for the preliminary exams, 75,000 CFA francs for the off-session exams (Essay, Oral French, Professional Practice, and Traditional Exams), and 55,000 CFA francs for the regular session. The provincial authority specified that these fees are set taking into account the diverse socioeconomic realities of the areas where the schools are located. Set upon the recommendation of the provincial committees of the educational provinces, these fees will be collected by school principals in their respective schools according to the plan outlined by the provincial governor. Furthermore, General Cirimwaminkuba Peter warns school principals against any form of increase in these fees, under penalty of severe punishment. Ivan Honoré Mudiangombé
