Haut-Katanga 1: Annual Performance Review opens on Monday

The Annual Performance Review meeting for Haut-Katanga Province was launched on Monday, August 7, in Lubumbashi, in the presence of the provincial minister of education, Chantal Kaleya Kilufya. Speaking on behalf of the provincial governor, the provincial Minister of Education took the opportunity to reiterate the urgent need to provide Haut-Katanga with qualified teaching staff. Taking the floor, the provincial director of the EPST, Joseph Mwinkeu Tshiend, paid tribute to the President of the Republic for implementing free education as stipulated in Article 43 of the Constitution. According to him, this conference will enable the province of Haut-Katanga to assess its education system and propose potential solutions. Over the course of these three days, from August 6 to 9, the meeting will also focus on evaluating the performance of the EPST sub-sector for the 2022-2023 school year, updating the school map, monitoring and evaluating the implementation of reforms initiated in the EPST sub-sector, and finally, finalizing the planning for the upcoming school year. On this first day, the agenda included the presentation of the new bilateral program between the Kingdom of Belgium and the Democratic Republic of the Congo by Enabel, the presentation of UNICEF’s annual activity report, the presentation of the annual activity report by FPEF, the presentation of the Dinacope portal, the presentation of the annual activity report by World Vision, the presentation of the annual report by IFADEM DRC, a presentation by CNSSAP, a presentation of the PAO evaluation report, and an overview of trends in selected indicators. Participants in this workshop include: EPST staff and managers, educational practitioners, and technical and financial partners. Dan de Dieu Kayanda
