Haut-Katanga 1: Bendera 1 and Fakat elementary school supplied with sheet metal and other building materials

On Wednesday, December 13, the provincial coordination office of the Fund for the Promotion of Education (Fpef) provided Bendera 1 and Fakat elementary schools with corrugated iron sheets, nails, and other necessary construction materials. This donation will enable the repair of the roofs of these two schools in the Lubumbashi 3 educational subdivision, which were damaged during recent storms in the region. During the donation ceremony, attended by educational authorities from Haut-Katanga 1, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Minister of EPST, Daniel Ebondo Kashama Khom, praised the promptness with which FPEF Director General Guy Lombela responded to his appeal to provide students with better learning conditions, especially during this rainy season in Haut-Katanga. He subsequently praised the efforts made by the educational authorities of Haut-Katanga 1, Joseph Mwinkeu Tshiend and Nicolas Nyange Bizy—respectively Director of the Educational Province and Provincial Chief Inspector—in their relentless struggle to ensure the sustainability of free public primary education. It is worth noting that several schools in Lubumbashi had their roofs blown off by the fierce winds that preceded torrential rains during the last month of the first quarter of the 2023–2024 school year.
