A workshop to develop communication tools highlighting the importance of children’s education was launched on Monday, September 23, 2024, in the city of Likasi, for officials from the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship in the Haut-Katanga 1 and 2 educational provinces.
The workshop was launched by the Provincial Director of Haut-Katanga 1, Joseph Mwinkeu Tshiend, alongside his colleague from Haut-Katanga 2, Déo-Gracias Tara, with support from Enabel.
The implementation of this project will enable the enrollment and education of all children without discrimination, ensuring a strong next generation for the development of society.
This workshop includes the participation of psychologists, parents, representatives of the local community, communication specialists, vice principals, and principals from several schools in Likasi.
Participants will discuss the communication tools to be developed to raise awareness among students, parents, and members of the local community regarding the importance of schooling for all children, including girls.
The tools to be developed include brochures, leaflets, posters, banners, tarps, and signs.
Since children’s education is a constitutional right and despite the fact that public primary education is free, it is evident that many children are still out of school; for this reason, mass awareness-raising is crucial to bring all children back to school.
