Classes have resumed in Haut-Katanga in accordance with the 2023–2024 school calendar. As elsewhere, students in Haut-Katanga Province returned to their respective schools to begin the second term of the 2023–2024 school year. Educational authorities in this administrative province visited several schools to ensure that classes had resumed as planned, in accordance with the instructions received from the Ministry of Education regarding this resumption. The tour began at Imara Elementary School, continuing to the Anuarité School Complex, Tuendelee High School, Uwezo Institute, Kiwele High School, and the Berackah School Complex, before concluding at the Bellevue School Complex. According to Joseph Mwinkeu Tshiend, director of the Haut-Katanga 1 educational province, who spoke to the press, “99% of students have indeed returned to school on this first day of the week.” In his remarks, Joseph Mwinkeu Tshiend encouraged students to quickly get back to work and put the vacation atmosphere behind them. He also urged all eighth-grade students and fourth-year humanities students preparing for their final exams to better prepare themselves for the certification exams. Furthermore, Joseph Mwinkeu Tshiend called on teachers to prioritize the quality of education over negative influences. As a reminder, the school calendar sets the start of the second term for Monday, January 8, 2024. Dan de Dieu Kayanda
