Haut-Katanga: training launched in the use of the Kobocollect data collection tool

A training workshop on the use of the data collection tool in public schools began on Monday, July 24, 2023, in Lubumbashi, Haut-Katanga.

This workshop is organized by the Haut-Katanga–Lualaba interprovincial coordination unit of the Belgian Development Agency (ENABEL).

The objective of this training is to assess the provincial education system as part of the ENABEL 2023–2027 sub-portfolio.

Authorities from the Haut-Katanga 1 and 2 educational provinces were present at the launch ceremony.

"The workshop bringing us together in this modest room aims to train you on the use of the KoboCollect data collection tool, which we will use to launch a diagnostic questionnaire on the provincial education system in our schools. This workshop is important for the implementation of the new bilateral cooperation program between the Kingdom of Belgium and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and more specifically in our field, the sub-portfolio of interventions under the basic education component, in order to align with the 2016–2025 sectoral strategy for education and training, which, incidentally, remains to this day the only diagnostic document for our education system. I encourage you to participate actively so that you can share your skills and benefit from the expertise of others,” he said.

It should be noted that the provincial education system diagnostic questionnaire, which will be used in schools, plays a crucial role in gaining a deeper understanding of the various challenges and specific needs of the education system.

This questionnaire will enable participants to better target their interventions, adapt their strategies, and maximize the effectiveness of their efforts.
