A training-of-trainers workshop began on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the Cercle Elaïs in Kinshasa, as part of the Reformed Pedagogical Humanities (HPR) initiative. This five-day session brings together experts from the Ministry of National Education and Higher Education. Its goal is to equip the DRC with teachers trained in innovative pedagogical approaches, adapted to current realities and geared toward the professionalization of the teaching profession. The agenda includes, in particular: - the implementation of adult education strategies; - the presentation of the HPR transitional program and the EFFICACE project; - the development of the course plan; - the integration of cross-cutting themes and the presentation of the training plan; - continuous professional development; - simulations and demonstrations based on subject-specific guides. The HPRs aim for a comprehensive reform of secondary education through their gradual introduction into Teacher Training Institutes (IFME). According to the organizers, the project’s implementation rate is currently estimated at 55%. Organized by UNESCO and DIFORE-BG, this workshop is part of the Girls’ Education, Initial and Continuing Teacher Training, and Support for Educational Continuity (EFFICACE) project, supported by the Global Partnership for Education through the French Development Agency (AFD).
