Students in the town of Tshikapa, in the Kasaï 1 educational province, were educated on Tuesday, March 5, about International Women’s Day, which is celebrated on March 8 each year. The ceremony was presided over by Provincial Minister for Gender, Families, and Children Denise Muluka at the Olive Lembe Kabila Industrial and Vocational Technical Institute, located in the Dibumba 1 district. In her remarks, Minister Denise Muluka called on both girls and boys to stand up and oppose all forms of social inequality among themselves and in society. She emphasized the promotion of values such as respect for everyone’s rights, equality before the law, and gender parity in society. "Dear young women and men, I call on you to respect the rights of all, and especially those granted to women. The month of March is dedicated to women, a month during which women must speak out forcefully and redefine their struggle. We must cultivate a tradition of celebrating this global day. This year in our province, we will organize a march and then participate in a service in memory of the victims in eastern DRC, where many women see their rights to safety, good health, and education being desperately violated and trampled upon every day," said Denise Muluka. Women’s Rights Day is celebrated this Friday, March 8, in the province of Kasai under the theme: “Together, let’s mobilize resources to promote the empowerment of women and girls for a more prosperous and gender-equal Kasai.” Willy Kambulu
