Kasaï 2: Respect for hierarchical instructions and the fight against corruption at the heart of an awareness-raising workshop in Lwebo

The provincial director of the Kasaï 2 educational province, the provincial chief inspector (IPP), and the provincial director of DIPROCOPE (formerly SECOPE) organized an awareness-raising workshop on March 26–27, 2023, in Lwebo, in the Lwebo 1 subdivision.

During this event, 180 participants, including school administrators, inspectors, and school principals, were urged to adhere to the school calendar, combat negative values in school settings, and follow instructions from higher authorities.

Speaking at the event, Nkongolo Tshimini Joseph, Provincial Director (PROVED) of Kasaï 2, reminded participants of the need to perform their duties properly, warning that failure to do so would result in sanctions.

“Whoever you are—school administrators, inspectors, or school principals—if you do not follow instructions from higher authorities, know that you are at risk of being removed from the positions you currently hold,” he stated.

The PROVED of Kasaï 2 took the opportunity to urge participants to make the fight against anti-values a reality.

“The fight against anti-values is the second aspect of this year’s theme. It must not be a slogan, but rather a daily practice. If we consider ourselves true Congolese and men fighting for the future of this country, we must get to work. We have a large and highly sensitive ministry. It provides the republic with human resources. Let us not be negligent. This would amount to undermining our educational system—and, by extension, our nation,” he emphasized. Djori Ngandu Mwaba, provincial director of DIPROCOPE (formerly SECOPE), called for everyone’s collaboration in the fight against anti-values, in the preparation of teachers’ pay, and in managing staffing levels.

“Every inspector must play their part. Otherwise, you will be of no use in fulfilling the noble mission of an inspector. An inspector is supposed to raise the standard of education by closely monitoring what teachers do in their daily work, particularly their adherence to methodology and the schedule,” added Makasinga A Gimondo, IPP of Kasaï 2. It should be noted that this initiative is part of the effort to revitalize education in this region, which suffered the ravages of war during the Kamwinasapu conflict, an event that notably resulted in the loss of administrative documents.

This awareness-raising effort also aims to encourage participants to reorganize their work and reconstruct school and administrative records, each according to their own responsibilities.
