Kasaï 2: the director of the educational province sanctions 4 prefects for having increased the participation fees for the EXETAT.

It all began with a complaint filed by a member of the Kasaï Provincial Assembly after he discovered overcharges in his district, Kasaï 2 (and Kasaï 1). Among the suspended school principals are Ntumba Mbuyi of the Dekese Institute in Dekese, Makashi Piema of the Mabaya Institute in Domiyongo, Alex Mubenga of the Ikwoot Institute in Nkinda, and finally Mbawota Ntumba of the Avenir Technical Institute in Mweka. The director of the educational province who suspended these four prefects accuses them of having increased the fees for participation in the 2023 State Exam’s out-of-session tests. Specifically, the fee was set at 115,000 FC instead of the 65,000 FC established by the provincial governor’s decree. “The governor’s decree sets the fees for certification exams. I relayed the instructions to the grassroots level and at the same time instructed local administrators to ensure rational management and strict compliance with this provision. We are fighting against this scourge of anti-values. The governor addressed us, and we, in turn, addressed our subordinates. “We will take firm action against those who refuse to comply,” he stated. He added, “If we sit idly by and turn a blind eye to so-called minor offenses, that would be a different matter, because when small offenses occur and go unpunished, it implies complicity on our part.” It should be noted that a group of inspectors was already suspended for five years during the 2021–2022 session in this same province and will not be able to return until 2027.
