Following the recent decree issued by the Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education (EPST), Professor Tony Mwaba Kazadi, the new director of the Lukunga Educational Province, Jean-Pierre Yoy Bokete, has just taken up his post.

This took place during a handover ceremony presided over on Wednesday, December 14, by the chief provincial inspector, assisted by the provincial director of SECOPE and other government officials from Kinshasa.

In his remarks, the new director outlined two main priorities for his term in accordance with the vision set forth by the minister in charge and the Congolese government.

"We have been entrusted with two missions by His Excellency the Minister of EPST. The first is to turn around the sub-sector; as far as we are concerned, we will set to work on this in this educational province. We also have the mission to ensure the sustainability and consolidation of free public primary education. There is also the fight against anti-values," he said.

In his remarks, Provincial Education Director Mokito Gaunda assured his successor of his full cooperation whenever needed.

It should be noted that the new provincial education director of Lukunga, Jean-Pierre Yoy Bokete, previously served as provincial education director in the educational provinces of Équateur, Tshopo 1 and 2; he has also served in South Kivu and Maniema 1.
