Multi-Year Resilience Program: ECW concludes its scoping mission in North Kivu

Luc Gbaweza Kabango, director of the North Kivu 1 educational province, led a delegation from the NGO Education Cannot Wait (ECW) to meet with the military governor of North Kivu, Major General Péter Cirimwami Nkuba, on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. This visit followed a fact-finding mission conducted by the delegation in this region as part of the Multi-Year Program for the Resilience of the Education System in Emergency Contexts, scheduled to begin next August. This project, which will be funded by ECW to the tune of $20 million, is planned for three years with the possibility of renewal depending on the achievement of objectives. Among other things, the project will focus on building classrooms, supporting the training of teachers and inspectors on inclusive education and PEAS (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse in Schools), providing school supplies, and managing the school environment to create a safer environment for children.
