To mark the celebration of April 30, the national day dedicated to Congolese teachers, the Mongala 1 Educational Province organized a series of conferences to reflect on the crucial role of teachers and the responsibility of every stakeholder in the educational process. Before an audience of administrators, teachers, and school principals, Jean Claude Kilonga, Françoise Mombo Banda, and Josias Mbombo—respectively the Provincial Director, Provincial Chief Inspector, and Advisor to the Provincial Minister of Education—addressed various topics. In particular, the theme “Educate to Transform, Train to Build” was elaborated upon by the Provincial Director. He emphasized that education is a continuous process that requires two-way reflection. For him, educating means imparting skills, raising awareness, and fostering critical thinking. Jean Claude Kilonga stressed the importance of continuing education, which is essential for building a solid career path. In a world fraught with challenges, education and training emerge as essential levers for shaping the future—a seed to be planted in a soil of hope. Ms. Françoise Mombo Banda, Chief Inspector of the Mongala 1 Educational Province, focused her remarks on peace, which she described as the foundation of stability and development. She affirmed that education is a pillar of peace and national cohesion on a global scale. Killing two birds with one stone, she also defined the fundamental role of every teacher, as well as that of stakeholders, in the process of peacemaking and building a better future for the nation. Ms. Mombo stated that "peace involves resolving disputes through dialogue, not violence." It is important to note that this Wednesday, all teachers are gathering at the church to implore God’s mercy upon the Congolese people during this period of Rwandan aggression. Moïse Dianyishayi
