As in other educational provinces of the DRC, the Annual Performance Review (APR) meeting kicked off on Monday, August 5, in the North Kivu 1 educational province, under the theme "Improving the quality of education to stimulate socioeconomic development."

According to the Director of this educational province, Luc Gbaweza, the goal is to address all challenges related to education in the province, with a view to aligning efforts with this year’s theme.

"We will address issues related to access to quality governance, including education in emergency situations and other issues affecting the sub-sector, since we want very active participation so that we can resolve all challenges related to education—especially since we are in an area plagued by insecurity— we must do what is necessary to obtain all the essential data regarding education in emergency situations as well," he stated.

Prisca Luanda Kamala, advisor to the governor of North Kivu in charge of education, who officially launched these proceedings, urged participants to actively engage in evaluating the previous school year and preparing for the one on the horizon.

She noted that all recommendations formulated during the meeting will be presented at the national review.

Beginning this Monday, August 5, the conference will conclude on August 7.
