On Thursday, November 17, 2022, the Project for Equity and Strengthening of the Education System continued its series of awareness-raising workshops on the streamlining of schools and administrative offices.

On this second day, the focus was on explaining to coordinators of charter schools what the streamlining of schools and administrative offices entails, and asking them to share this information with their colleagues. This is what Godfrey Talabulu, a human resources specialist at PERSE, explained:

“This reform will soon be implemented. We explained to them what it entails. We also reminded them of their role as partners in the management of the Congolese education system. They must relay the information to their staff so that we all share the same vision of the benefits of the reform,” he said.

For Homère Kayeye, national coordinator of Seventh-day Adventist charter schools, the initiative to streamline schools and administrative offices is essential for the revitalization of education in the DRC: “It is a way to pursue greater stability in the education system. This reform aims for effectiveness and efficiency and will help achieve the objectives. It will also enable the government to easily determine the exact number of staff and managers working in each of the EPST’s departments,” he noted.

Launched on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, this awareness campaign led by PERSE in collaboration with the Directorate of Teacher Training and Administrative Offices (DIFORE-BG) continues this Friday, November 18, with civil society, unions, and parent committees.
