Nearly three months after the start of the school year, Jean Tshisekedi Kabasele, director of the Kongo Central 2 educational district, held discussions on Monday, October 30, 2023, with the department heads in his office. The goal for the head of this educational district was to gain an understanding of how each department has been functioning since the start of the school year. The director took the opportunity to urge the department heads to step up initiatives to improve the work of the office within the educational province. “You are the department heads. You are the cornerstones of our office. I expect initiatives from you that will improve the quality of our work. Those who do not want to work will be disciplined,” he emphasized. For his part, the head of general services, Édouard Basiba, reported that during this meeting, Superintendent Jean Tshisekedi identified some shortcomings, but that, at least in most departments, the work has been carried out well so far. It should be noted that the purpose of these discussions is to allow the superintendent to closely monitor the performance of his staff. Jirel Kitoko
