Some school principals in the Kinshasa/Tshangu educational province have tripled or even quadrupled the registration fees for the National Test for Academic and Vocational Selection and Guidance (TENASOSP). This information was reported on Friday, June 16, 2023, by Proved Jean Marie Mvunzi Mbemba, who led an inspection team there, headed by Christine Nepa-Nepa and Jacques Odia Musungayi, respectively secretary and inspector general at the EPST. "Several official directives have not been followed, for example regarding the fees for participating in TENASOP. We note several instances of overcharging. The Collège du Ciel charged 85,000 FC; Collège Moussa 100,000 FC; Matondo 57,000 FC; Wata Fils Modern College 58,000 FC; Bonanda School Complex 45,000 FC; Kaulu School Complex 52,000 FC; Imani 35,000 FC; Bienvenue 35,000 FC; Mon Berger 32,000 FC," lamented the Tshangu PROVED. Provincial Director Jean-Marie Mvunzi demanded that these school principals and their promoters immediately refund all excess fees collected from students. He also commended the courage of certain parents who braved intimidation to denounce these anti-values so vigorously opposed by Professor Tony Mwaba, the national Minister of EPST. The Tshangu Provincial Education Director also strongly condemned other practices contrary to regulations within his jurisdiction. These include, among other things, the wearing of polo shirts bearing the sponsors’ logos and the offering of additional elective courses without the necessary school infrastructure. The Secretary General and the Inspector General of the EPST, for their part, demanded a report on exemplary disciplinary sanctions as soon as possible. As a reminder, in the city-province of Kinshasa, the administrative authorities had set the participation fee for TENASOSP at 21,000 FC. Deborah Kabuya and Richard Dumby
