On March 21, 2026, the Saint Cuneo School Complex, located in the Funa educational province, won the second edition of the Mabadikilo School Science Festival (Fescoma), organized by the “Dygene” Conscious Generation Initiative in collaboration with the Directorate of Sports and Extracurricular Activities (DASP) of the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship.
The event took place at the Kinshasa Cultural Center under the theme “Breaking the silence in the face of gender-based violence in our country is an act of bravery and resilience for a balanced and thriving society.”
In total, seven schools participated in the finals of this competition, which was divided into nine categories: slam poetry, scientific invention or creativity, skits, public speaking, traditional dance, Congolese dance, budding genius, and a fashion show.
CS Saint Cuneo presented innovative projects that highlighted solutions to raise awareness and prevent gender-based violence. The jury was impressed by the originality, performance, quality of the presentation, and the students’ commitment to promoting peace, justice, and gender equality.
This victory is the result of the students’ hard work and the dedication of the school’s teaching staff.
“Our mission is to educate the whole person, preserving the moral values that form the foundation of society. The school is an environment where peace, tolerance, fair play, and humility reign. Education is the greatness of a country,” said Magiula Mataku, division head at the Directorate of Sports and Extracurricular Activities, before presenting the medals to the winners.
For her part, Hélène Bungu Makanienga, headmistress of CS Saint Cuneo, praised the achievement of her students, who benefited from the support of many, from teachers to parents.
Finally, Johnson Ishara, Fescoma Coordinator, highlighted the role of this initiative in strengthening culture, as well as fostering civic and environmental awareness in the DRC.
The Mabadiliko School Science Festival Competition aims to encourage students to develop scientific, technological, and civic skills to contribute to the country’s development.
