On November 26, 2025, the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship (EDU-NC) approved new educational resources designed to strengthen continuing education for secondary school teachers. This took place during a workshop held in Kinshasa in the N’Sele district, as part of the Girls’ Learning and Empowerment Project (PAAF). The workshop was opened by Acting Secretary General Mr. Axis Yoka, on behalf of Minister of State Raïssa Malu. During the proceedings, the Inspector General presented the technical guidelines for the validation process. PAAF Coordinator Ms. Alice Mutambayi reiterated the Project’s commitment to providing sustainable support for teachers’ professional development. The educational tools reviewed The workshop provided an opportunity to review and validate various resources, including a classroom observation tool, accompanied by its guide and a training module for observers; a guide and module dedicated to mentoring, a major innovation in the DRC’s education system; as well as worksheets for using science matrices, along with a user guide. Mentoring, a new support mechanism Mentoring was presented as an innovative mechanism designed to provide personalized support to teachers, either in person or remotely. Its rollout is planned for approximately 1,500 local school networks, covering nearly 16,000 secondary schools in the provinces targeted by the project. This initiative is considered an essential lever for strengthening teaching practices on a large scale. The results of this workshop reinforce the consolidation of national tools for continuing teacher education to achieve sustainable improvements in the quality of learning, one of the guiding principles of the Ministry of EDU-NC’s 2024–2029 Five-Year Plan. This work is part of Component 2.2B of the PAAF, recognized for its decisive contribution to the professional development of secondary school teachers. Pitié Matondo, RTEDUC
