A World Bank delegation, led by Daniel Hugo Dulitzky, Regional Director for Human Development, visited the Communication Management Directorate (DGC) of the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship on Thursday. The goal was to assess the operations of the toll-free “Allo École” call center, a tool for managing complaints in the education sector. Guided by Valère Munsya, SPACE coordinator, the delegation noted the importance of the work carried out by this initiative, particularly in handling reports of violence and abuse in schools.
“They encouraged us to keep up the momentum. To ensure free primary education, all children must be able to attend school safely. It is essential to eliminate all forms of violence or abuse,” stated Valère Munsya.
The Technical Director of the DGC, for his part, highlighted challenges, particularly difficulties related to cellular coverage and the need to better publicize the toll-free number 178 across the country. The delegation was received at the DGC by the Ministry’s Acting Secretary General, Mukenge Matthieu, assisted by the Ministry’s Director of Human Resources, Bitomene, and the DGC’s Chief of Staff, Jean-Jeef Mwanza. Launched on March 23, 2022, with support from the World Bank, Allo École aims to strengthen transparency and safety in schools, particularly by combating gender-based violence. Ouriel Mangitukwa
