“Starting this Monday, September 8, all schools in Kinshasa will be supplied, and we are asking school principals, along with classroom teachers, to work to ensure that by the end of next week, all children in Kinshasa have their report cards. For other provinces, starting with Kongo Central, distribution will take place gradually. “We are working to deliver the report cards to the provincial capitals, specifically Inkisi, Mbanza-Ngungu, Matadi, and Kisantu,” he explained. He also noted that this first batch is intended for the provinces of Kongo Central and Kinshasa. In the coming days, Congolese schools located outside the national territory will also be supplied, particularly those in Cabinda and Luanda, Angola. He also emphasized the egalitarian and inclusive nature of education that the government promotes through the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship.
“The Minister of State emphasizes inclusion: Congolese children must be treated equally, whether they are in Kinshasa, Goma, Bukavu, or Luanda. They must follow the Congolese national curriculum and feel fully Congolese,” he explained.Beyond the production of these report cards and other school documents, the Congolese government, through the Ministry of National Education, plans to print report cards and other school documents locally. During a press briefing last Thursday, Minister of National Education Raïssa Malu stated that the government was considering the possibility of implementing electronic report cards and exploring the digitization of diplomas and other school documents. This initiative is part of one of the guiding principles of the 2024–2029 five-year plan for national education and new citizenship. This principle places particular emphasis on the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to modernize the education system by incorporating ICT into both teaching and administrative management, in order to prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century.
