Blind students at the National Institute for the Blind (INAV), who are final-year candidates for the National Primary School Graduation Exam (ENAFEP), are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to take these national exams, scheduled to begin on Monday, June 3. This was confirmed by the Director of the school, located in Kinshasa, Ms. Bwini Nicole, in an interview on Friday, May 31, with the EPST Communication Management Directorate (DGC). "Our teaching teams have worked tirelessly to prepare our students in the best possible way. We have emphasized individualized support and the use of adapted tools, such as Braille machines, tablets, and Bristol board, so that all our primary school graduates can take this exam under the best possible conditions," said Ms. Bwini Nicole. According to her, this year INAV is sending 37 students to the exam, including 5 blind candidates—3 boys and 2 girls. These students have been following an intensive review program since the beginning of the year, with skill-building sessions and mock exams in recent weeks. “We are confident in their abilities and wish them the best for this important milestone in their education,” she added. Furthermore, the principal urges parents of children with disabilities to send them to school to develop their intellectual abilities. This school was founded in 1972 with Germany and the Brothers of Charity as its initial partners. It serves all children with visual impairments and all types of disabilities. Cephora Kokanzo
