ENAFEP: Girls' participation exceeds boys' in the educational province of North Kivu 1

The National Primary School Graduation Exam (ENAFEP) began this Monday, June 3, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In the North Kivu 1 educational province, there has been a high turnout of female students taking the exam. According to statistics received by the DGC/EPST (Communication Management Directorate) editorial office, 20,731 girls are taking this national exam out of a total of 40,673 candidates, representing 51 percent, compared to 19,942 boys, or 49 percent. According to Luc Gbaweza, the Provincial Director of EPST North Kivu 1, who provided these statistics, 143 testing centers are serving as venues, spread across 10 sub-divisions, with the exception of the Rutshuru 5 sub-division, where classes were not held due to the atrocities. It is important to note that the official launch ceremony for the ENAFEP in this province was presided over by the senior advisor to the military governor of North Kivu in charge of education, Prisca Luanda Kamala, at Theresa Mira Primary School.
