27,673 high school seniors from the North Kivu 2 educational province, in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), are peacefully taking the 2024 State Exam. The exam kicked off at the Mahamba Technical and Industrial Institute in Butembo. Addressing the participants, Jean-Pierre Masumbuko, Provincial Chief Inspector (IPP) of this educational province, called for calm and determination in the hope of achieving good results, which will open doors to the academic and professional worlds. “Make the most of your opportunities to achieve what you seek. The diploma, the fruit of your hard work, opens the door to higher education and university studies, and even to your professional life. So work hard to earn it. Also, be diligent: the exams take place over four days; do not neglect any of them,” he urged. Regarding areas affected by atrocities, such as Njiapanda west of Butembo, the Provincial Director (Proved) of North Kivu 2, Shalumoo Tsambali Salomon, stated that candidates were sent to various exam centers in Butembo. It should be noted that the national certification exams have been taking place since Monday, June 24, in the DRC’s 60 educational provinces, as well as outside the country’s borders. They will conclude next Thursday. Willy Kambulu
