The General Inspectorate of National Education and New Citizenship has announced new measures regarding the publication of State Exam results. These measures are primarily aimed at protecting the privacy of successful candidates and combating the fraud that has often plagued this period. In a statement issued on the eve of the results’ release, Jacques Odia Musungay, Inspector General of National Education and New Citizenship, announced that the names of the top-scoring students will no longer be published in the media or on social media. “We are accustomed to publishing the names of the top scorers. It is not appropriate to publish them. The names of the top scorers will no longer be made public, in the media, much less on social media. That is not how you protect people’s privacy,” he emphasized To check their results, the Inspector General urges candidates to use official channels. Partnerships have been established with the country’s major mobile phone operators (Orange, Vodacom, Airtel, and Africell) to allow candidates to access their results via their cell phones. Additionally, results will be released gradually, with full publication scheduled for August 24. For the Inspector General, following these guidelines will help candidates and their parents combat fraud, which is often associated with the release of results. “Going to internet cafes to get results leads to misconduct, fraud, scams, and all sorts of anti-social behavior,” he lamented. He also called for calm and respect for public order. “If you need to celebrate, do so at home, not in the street, so as not to disturb public order,” he concluded. The General Inspectorate of National Education and New Citizenship has also announced the release of results in the educational provinces of Mont-Amba and Plateau in Kinshasa, as well as in Kongo-Central 1, Kwilu 1, and Equateur 1.
