As it does every year, the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo will ensure that the 2025 State Exam is administered for all candidates. The Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship will organize a special session of the preliminary exam for the 2024–2025 State Exam on March 25 for 619 self-taught candidates from three educational provinces affected by the security crisis, namely North Kivu 1, South Kivu 1, and South Kivu 3. This is the gist of a briefing note presented by Minister Raïssa Malu during Friday’s Cabinet meeting.
“Following a consultation meeting held from March 10 to 12 with the provincial chief inspectors (IPP) in charge of the affected provinces, the decision was made to organize this special session on March 25 for the benefit of 619 candidates from the three affected educational provinces,” said Minister of Communication and Media Patrick Muyaya.
The security crisis in the east has caused the closure of more than 5,900 schools, including 692 in North Kivu affecting 471,183 children, and 5,235 in South Kivu affecting more than 1.4 million children who have now dropped out of school. Willy Kambulu
