The Deputy Minister of National Education and New Citizenship (EDU-NC), Théodore Kazadi, launched an awareness campaign on Saturday, November 22, 2025, in Lubumbashi, in the province of Haut-Katanga, focused on menstrual hygiene in schools. This initiative aims primarily to improve the health of female students, support their education, and break down taboos. Launched by the non-governmental organization (NGO) Solidarité Plus Forever, this campaign seeks to create a more inclusive educational environment by improving access to information, hygiene products, and appropriate support. Above all, the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), through the Ministry of Edu-NC, is working to reduce school absences and dropouts linked to a lack of menstrual management. The Ministry of Edu-NC’s 2024–2029 five-year plan has incorporated the promotion of inclusion among the five guiding principles that direct its actions. The goal is to create a safe and inclusive educational environment, with particular attention to the safety and protection of girls in schools. The government therefore wants to ensure that every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential, thereby contributing to the building of a more just and inclusive society. Bruno Nsaka
