From April 13 to 18, 2026, the Haut-Katanga 1 educational province will be buzzing with activity during the 13th edition of Science and Technology Week, a major initiative that brings together students, teachers, and mentors to focus on innovation, creativity, and the promotion of scientific knowledge.

Held simultaneously in several schools, this event provides a unique opportunity to spark students’ scientific curiosity and uncover the often-overlooked talents of Congolese youth.

For Joseph Mwinkeu, director of this educational province, this week represents a unique opportunity to “showcase the talents of our sons and daughters, the true pillars of our country’s future.”

At booths set up for the occasion, students display their projects, conduct scientific experiments, and propose innovative solutions to everyday challenges. This dynamic highlights a real potential that remains underutilized yet is essential to the development of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

This initiative is fully aligned with the vision of the President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi, who places education, science, and technology at the heart of national transformation. Through the promotion of science and technology programs, the Head of State aims to prepare a generation capable of meeting the demands of the modern world.

The realization of this vision relies in particular on the commitment of the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship, under the leadership of Raïssa Malu, who is launching numerous initiatives to promote quality education focused on skills, innovation, and excellence.

Beyond the exhibitions, Science and Technology Week serves as a true space for exchange and learning. It fosters the sharing of experiences between students and teachers, thereby contributing to the emergence of a sustainable scientific culture within the education system.

Under the theme “At the Heart of Technical Skill,” this edition highlights the expertise, creativity, and ingenuity of students. The event brings together participants from various schools, as well as education officials, partners, and the general public.

Through this initiative, Haut-Katanga 1 reaffirms its commitment to supporting an ambitious youth, ready to invest in building a future based on knowledge, innovation, and mastery of technology. A strategic bet on Congolese ingenuity, an essential driver of sustainable development in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
