Hubert Kimbonza officially takes the helm of the General Inspectorate for National Education and New Citizenship.

Hubert Kimbonza, the new Inspector General of National Education and New Citizenship, officially assumed his new duties following a handover ceremony held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, in Kinshasa.

This ceremony follows an appointment made by the Minister of State, Minister of National Education and New Citizenship, Raïssa Malu, in a decree issued recently.

This initiative aims to strengthen the operations of various departments within the ministry in order to improve the education sector in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The new Inspector General, Hubert Kimbonza, who previously served as Deputy Inspector General in charge of engineering, pledged to bring his experience and expertise to the General Inspectorate.

In his speech, he emphasized the crucial importance of education for the sustainable development of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

"It is a great honor for me to stand before you for this handover ceremony. I pay tribute to Head of State Félix Antoine Tshisekedi, who appointed Ms. Raïssa Malu to lead the ministry. She, in turn, has chosen my humble self to steer our General Inspectorate of National Education and New Citizenship to a successful conclusion. "I will do everything, with God’s grace, to ensure that my term of office proceeds according to God’s will, and I will listen to my elders as well as my colleagues so that together, we may accomplish our task," he declared.

He also issued an appeal to the media: "I ask the press to help us tell the truth about everything that happens, especially during this tumultuous period, when we are seeing numerous strikes, not to mention the issues related to insecurity, particularly in the east of the country, where school activities are disrupted due to the unjust war imposed on us by our neighbors.

In addition to this appointment, several other department heads have been reappointed to their posts under the same decree issued by the supervisory authority.

These include Ms. Inzun On'sak Atom Mathylde at the National Student Identification Service (SERNIE) and Waz Wanyi Mwanza Jean-Jeff of the Communication Management Directorate at the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship.
