The Ministry of Education and New Citizenship has just launched a recruitment competition for teachers and a promotion process for principals in public school subdivisions. This was announced in a press release signed by Ms. Raïssa Malu, Minister of National Education and New Citizenship. Launched last year as a pilot program, this competition is part of the ministry’s new policy stemming from reforms initiated in the Sectoral Strategy for Education and Training (SSFE). In its second pillar, this reform aims to improve the quality of education through merit-based recruitment. It should be noted that only ten educational provinces covered by the Project for Equity and Strengthening of the Educational System (Perse) are included in this pilot phase. These are Kinshasa, Kongo-Central, Kwilu, Kasai, Kasai-Central, Kasai-Oriental, Lomami, Ituri, South Kivu, and North Kivu. Registration is free. It takes place on the Ministry’s official website from February 14 to 28 of the current year. In addition, applicants must hold at least a state-recognized degree in Education or a similar academic field and must present a copy of their identification document. The authorities in the sector have been instructed to take all necessary measures to ensure the seamless implementation of this reform to train high-quality teaching staff. Marie France PALA
