The Deputy Minister of National Education and New Citizenship (Edu-NC), Théodore Kazadi, met on Thursday with the delegation of national lawmakers elected from Lualaba Province, led by Alain Kantenga. The meeting provided an opportunity to address several key issues related to the functioning of the education system in this mining province. Discussions focused in particular on teacher recruitment, school accreditation, the poor condition of school infrastructure, and the completion of construction projects under the Local Development Program for the 145 Territories (PDL-145T). The deputies called for urgent solutions to improve teachers’ working conditions and ensure a better learning environment for students. In response, Deputy Minister Théodore Kazadi commended the commitment of Lualaba’s elected officials and reaffirmed the Government’s determination to continue the dialogue with stakeholders on the ground. He also assured them that all necessary actions will be taken to build a more equitable, inclusive, and effective education system. These discussions are part of the first guiding principle of the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship’s 2024–2029 five-year plan: dialogue with stakeholders. The Ministry is committed to maintaining an inclusive consultative process that takes into account the voices and needs of all stakeholders in the education sector, including students, teachers, parents, local communities, civil society organizations, and technical and financial partners.
