"School activities have resumed across the Republic," stated Hubert Kimbonza, Inspector General of National Education and New Citizenship (EDU-NC), following an inspection visit conducted at the instruction of Minister of State Raïssa Malu on Monday, January 6, 2025, at several schools in Kinshasa.
The head of the General Inspectorate first traveled to the educational province of Kinshasa - Lukunga, then to Mont Amba, where he visited, in succession, the ITP Gombe, the Athénée de la Gombe, the Lycée Bosangani, the Collège Saint Raphaël, the ITC Limete, and the Cardinal Malula School Complex—a mix of public, accredited private, contract-based, and non-contract-based schools. Everywhere he went, he urged students to love learning and to observe discipline, cleanliness, and inclusion. Hubert Kimbonza expressed satisfaction with the number of children who have returned to school and the teachers who have reported for duty in the classrooms.
"The results are very encouraging! Let’s not beat around the bush—the resumption of classes has been a success. In Lubero and elsewhere, the IPPs and PROVEDs confirm the effectiveness of the return to school, which is a great source of satisfaction. We would also like to thank our teachers, who have made it clear that the interests of Congolese children must be prioritized. Thank you for being the architects of a better world for tomorrow. Dear teachers, the government takes your concerns to heart. You have just proven once again that you are true patriots," he said.
In light of this success, the Inspector General expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic and Head of State, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi, who remains committed to the development of the DRC, as well as to the Prime Minister, Head of Government; Minister of State Raïssa Malu, head of the EDU-NC sub-sector; and to educational partners for their support, particularly the parents who send their children to school every day.
The commander was accompanied by the IPP of Kinshasa-Lukunga, PROVED, the IPP, and DIPROCOP of Mont Amba. Hubert Kimbonza promises to continue his inspection visits this Tuesday in Kinshasa-Funa and Tshangu.
