From Thursday, March 6, to Monday, March 17, 2025, the Lukunga Educational Province hosted a training session for pool chief inspectors, itinerant inspectors, and school principals as part of the creation of the community school network. The training took place at Kimwenza High School in the Mont-Ngafula commune of Kinshasa. This initiative aims primarily to enhance teachers’ pedagogical effectiveness while improving the management of the education system in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In his closing remarks, Lukunga’s provincial chief inspector, Vital Lumbala, emphasized the importance of this collaborative effort, which allowed participants to share their experiences and better understand the current challenges facing the Congolese education system. “We needed to figure out how to improve the quality of education starting from the ground up. The key takeaway from this training is that it is primarily the pool chief inspectors and itinerant inspectors who must work together to coordinate and group schools. I draw their attention to the need to ensure the sustainability of this reform regarding the establishment of a network of neighborhood schools,” stated Chief Inspector Vital Lumbala. It is important to emphasize that the main objective of this network of schools is to create an environment conducive to learning by promoting innovative teaching practices tailored to students’ needs. This also involves better coordination among the various schools to ensure continuity and quality in the education provided to children across the entire country and to address the challenges facing the education system. Through this initiative, the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship hopes to promote quality education accessible to all by placing local schools at the heart of educational priorities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The training took place at Kimwenza High School, in the Mont-Ngafula district of Kinshasa. Célestin Zeula
