On Monday, March 30, 2026, the Kongo Central 2 educational province took a decisive step forward in its digital transition. An intensive training workshop was held at the Mbanza-Ngungu Educational Resource Center to promote widespread use of the “Educ-App” among school inspectors, principals, and teachers.
Key Takeaway: Innovation in the Service of Schools
The Educ-App mobile application is now the central tool for modernizing educational monitoring in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Designed to simplify student enrollment management and the tracking of school activities, it enables educational leaders to:
• Enter educational data in real time.
• Generate automated reports.
• Access reliable statistics for better decision-making.
A Strategic Pilot Project
The province of Kongo Central 2 serves as the pilot zone for this large-scale experiment. Following this workshop, participants are tasked with rolling out the tool in their respective jurisdictions. While the response has been enthusiastic, challenges on the ground remain, particularly internet coverage and access to solar power in rural areas—issues on which project leaders have promised technical support.
This initiative is not merely a technical update; it is the “practical arm” of the national policy vision. It directly addresses the requirements of the Framework Law on Education of February 11, 2014, and the Sectoral Education Strategy (2016–2025). The government’s objective is clear: to integrate ICT to transform the teaching profession and strengthen the governance of the education system.
A synergy of stakeholders
Launched on behalf of the Provincial Director of EPU-NC/Kongo Central 2, this workshop illustrates the collaboration between the Ministry and its international partners. The Girls’ Education, Initial and Continuing Teacher Training (EFFICACE) project receives technical and financial support from several partners, including:
•
UNESCO• The French Development Agency (AFD)
• The Global Partnership for Education (GPE)
For the project coordinator, this digital transition is essential to reduce administrative burdens and provide an accurate “social mirror” of the reality of schooling in the provinces.
