On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the acting provincial director of Lomami 2, Donatien Tshama Tshiakayi, rallied the female students in his jurisdiction to promote gender equality. He did so during an event marking the conclusion of Women’s Rights Month, through an initiative focused on combating inequality.

Under the theme “Let’s stand together to combat all forms of gender-based violence,” the event brought together stakeholders in the education sector around a message of collective commitment.

In his speech, the acting provincial director of education, Donatien Tshama, encouraged young girls to get involved in the country’s development, emphasizing the key role of education in their empowerment.

For her part, Espérance Kawanga, head of the Gender and Family Department, warned of the persistence of early marriages in Mwene-Ditu and called on girls to defend their rights.

A highlight of the day: the presentations given by female students from several schools in Mwene-Ditu. Through their speeches, they demonstrated their commitment and potential, embodying the future of a conscious and action-ready female elite.
