The Provincial Minister of Education, Health, Social Affairs, Gender, Family, and Children, Kainda Kasela Putchou, officially launched the 2025–2026 sports, cultural, and extracurricular activities in the Lualaba Educational Province. The ceremony took place last weekend in the presence of several education sector officials, including Mr. Mukubu wa Nkamba Bonaventure, Provincial Director of Education; members of the provincial and sub-provincial committees; the parents’ committee; school principals; and numerous students. On this occasion, an opening match pitted the CS Royal International Academia team from the Mutshatsha Subdivision against the Twayayi Institute team from the Kolwezi 1 Subdivision. The match ended with a score of 2-1 in favor of CS Royal. The Provincial Director of National Education and New Citizenship commended the Provincial Governor’s commitment to youth development through her support and guidance. According to the Directorate of Sports and Extracurricular Activities (DASP), Lualaba thus becomes the second province to officially launch sports activities for the 2025–2026 school year, in accordance with the national calendar. This program is part of the Head of State’s 2024–2029 five-year plan, which aims to transform the Congolese education system by promoting sports, cultural, and extracurricular activities as drivers of students’ overall development. These activities contribute not only to physical health and concentration but also to stress reduction, the development of self-confidence, and the learning of social values such as respect for rules and cooperation. During the launch, the provincial Minister of Education presented the PROVED with sports kits for schools in Lualaba, emphasizing the importance of sports in children’s intellectual and social development.
