The testing centers for the Primary School Completion Exam (ENAFEP) in Kanyabayonga and Bulotwa, in Lubéro territory, North Kivu 2 educational province, have been relocated to Kayna, another town in the same territory. This measure follows recent clashes between the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) and M23 rebels, supported by Rwanda, around these localities. According to a statement issued on Saturday, June 1, signed by Paluku Muvunga Richard, head of the Kirumba sub-division, “this measure will allow graduating students who fled the M23 conflict in these two areas to take these exams.” The statement also noted that “candidates residing far from their designated exam centers may take the exams at the nearest centers.” These two-day exams, which began on Monday, June 3, involve 82,000 students in the North Kivu 2 educational province.
