The validation workshop for the Textbook Management Guide for the first six years of basic education opened on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the Boboto Cultural Center, in the Studio Léo room, in Kinshasa.

The workshop aims to review, enhance, and validate this strategic document, which is intended to guide the management of textbooks used during the first six years of basic education in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

Participants are working in subgroups to conduct an in-depth analysis of the guide’s content and formulate proposals for improvement. These contributions are then consolidated and presented in a plenary session for validation.

This activity is part of the preparations for the distribution of textbooks scheduled for 2026, under the PEQIP. It reflects the third guiding principle of the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship’s 2024–2029 five-year plan, which focuses on investment in teacher training and development.

Participants in this work include experts from the Permanent Secretariat for Education Support and Coordination (SPACE), representatives from the Directorate of Educational Reform and Innovation (DRIE), DIPROMAD executives and staff, primary school inspectors from SERNAFOR, teachers from public and private primary schools, technical and financial partners, as well as PEQIP specialists.
